The Artisan behind the Laser
Meet Phillip
After a 28-year career in the Royal Australian Navy, retiring as a Petty Officer Imagery Specialist, I traded the lens for the laser. My time in the military instilled a discipline for precision and a deep respect for commemorative history.
Today, I operate Sailor Sawdust and Laser Creations out of Ballarat, Victoria. What started as a passion for woodworking has evolved into a high-tech studio capable of deep-relief metal engraving, intricate wood designs, and custom commemorative pieces that last a lifetime.
Whether I'm crafting a brass coin for a fellow veteran or a custom slate piece for a local home, my goal remains the same: uncompromising quality and technical perfection.
Imagery Expertise
Decades of experience as a military photographer mean I understand light, depth, and composition better than most.
Precision Tech
I utilize a 30W MOPA Fiber laser and 50W CO2 laser for hyper-detailed engraving on almost any surface.
Custom Design
From GTA V server assets to 3D depth maps, I bridge the gap between digital design and physical reality.
Military Heritage
I specialize in commemorative items that honour service, history, and the nautical traditions I lived for 28 years.
